  • Former NBA player Roshown McLeod has been hired as an assistant coach at Indiana.
  • Notre Dame left Tuesday for a 13-day trip that will include six games before the football team plays its first. The Irish started practicing Aug. 4, four days before the football team and two months ahead of the traditional October start of basketball practice.
  • Jimmy V Classic matchups announced (doubleheader on Dec. 9 at Madison Square Garden in New York City): West Virginia and Davidson will play at 7 p.m. EST. Texas will play Villanova at 9 p.m. Both games will be shown on ESPN.
