Homecoming
When the Buckeyes take on North Carolina Saturday in Baltimore, it will mark the return of eight current players, as well as head coach Joe Breschi, to their home state. Eight Buckeyes hail from Maryland and the Baltimore area - seniors Kevin Buchanan (Cockeysville/Calvert Hall), Josh Funk (Poolesville/Poolesville) and Matt Cornell (Ellicott City/Archbishop Spaulding), juniors Nick Carr (Baltimore/Calvert Hall) and Scott Matthews (Nottingham/Boys’ Latin), sophomores Scott Foreman (Timonium/Calvert Hall) and Patrick Hansen (Annapolis/St. Mary’s) and freshman Andrew Klontz (Silver Spring/Sandy Spring Friends). Breschi is a graduate of Loyola Blakefield.

The game will be played at The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland, the alma mater of Matthews, a three-year starter on defense for the Buckeyes. He will be recognized by the school before the game Saturday.

Almost Here
The Buckeyes will take on Denver at 11 a.m. next Saturday (April 19) in Ohio Stadium before the football team’s spring game. The program will be looking to break the national attendance record of 52,004 (set May 26, 2007 at the NCAA semifinals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore when Johns Hopkins beat Delaware and Duke downed Cornell).

The regular-season attendance record is 20,180, set during a doubleheader featuring Johns Hopkins/Princeton and Virginia/Syracuse March 3, 2007, also at M&T Bank Stadium. The on-campus record is 19,850, set when Maryland hosted Johns Hopkins at Byrd Stadium in College Park, Md., April 18, 1987.

Tickets to the game are $5 and include both the lacrosse and football games. They can be purchased online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com or by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS. Gates to the stadium will open at 10 a.m., with general admission seating.

Lace Them Up
Buckeye players and coaches are wearing lime green shoelaces in honor of Nick “HEAD” Colleluori, a relentless lacrosse player who lost his life to lymphoma Nov. 28, 2006 at age 21. Colleluori was a native of the Philadelphia area and played lacrosse at Hofstra.

The laces are sold through the HEADstrong Foundation, which supports blood cancer research effort. To date, the foundation has raised over $30,000 from the sale of the laces. For more information, visit HEADstrongfoundation.org.
