LSU Post-Game QuotesAuburn vs. LSUPat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare StadiumSeptember 20, 2008 LSU Running Back Charles Scott On being the first LSU player get 100 yards against Auburn this season* *Right now I am thinking it was the hardest 100 yards of my life. They have a great defense, but I know our defense played hard and we wanted to win.* On encouraging quarterback Jarrett Lee after his interception in the second quarter* *I just kept telling him to stay focused. We are all going to make mistakes, but we are going to stay in it and fight together. On recovering after starting quarterback Andrew Hatch's injury* *It was good that we have been running two quarterbacks since camp. So, just because he went down does not mean we are going to miss a beat. When (Jarrett) Lee stepped in, we just kept rolling.* On getting the come-from-behind victory* *It was a great comeback. We expected to have to come from behind. It does not matter if it is LSU vs. Auburn, LSU, vs. Georgia, or any SEC team, we expect to play a game like this. We prepared ourselves mentally, we knew we were going to be playing a four-quarter game. We went all-out tonight. LSU Quarterback Jarrett Lee On coming in after starting quarterback Andrew Hatch's injury* *It was unfortunate that he went down, but I knew I had to come in and make plays. In the first half, I made some poor decisions, but in the second half I knew I had to come back and make some plays for my team.* On the second half comeback* *I knew the receivers were getting open and the offensive line was blocking, so I had to make the plays.* On the second-quarter interception* *The defense was not even set, I tried to snap the ball fast and get it out to Keiland Williams, but the defense got to the right place at the right time and scored.* On returning in the second half* *I knew I would get back in. I just knew when the opportunity came to me, I had to make the right decisions. Unfortunately, I did not make the right decisions the first time, but when they called my name again, I came through.* LSU Receiver Brandon LaFell On winning after losing in Auburn in 2006* *I was hoping that I would have a couple situations where I could make big plays. I was not happy when I turned the ball over and then when I saw (Andrew) Hatch go down, I knew I had to step up, stay focused and make the big plays when it was my time.* On Jarrett Lee's performance* *Everybody was pretty down when we went into the lockerroom at halftime and he came in there and kept us motivated. He kept talking about how we have been there before and then when we got back on the field, he kept giving us opportunities to make big plays as receivers. I kept looking for the ball every time. As a receiver, you want the ball to come to you and you want to make the big plays.* LSU Defensive Tackle Ricky Jean-Francois On the second-half stop* *Everybody was told to get the stop. Our offense was moving and we need to keep moving because we kind of struggled in the first half.* On 15-yard penalty* *I just told everyone that we needed to calm down. We are a team that doesn*t really get down. Other teams would, but we don*t.* On how big of a win it was for LSU* *It was a great big win. This game is based a lot on tradition with the home team and we broke that tonight.* LSU Defensive End Tyson Jackson On the defensive stop to start the second half* *We had pretty much figured out their offense. They made a few big plays, but that was because of our missed assignments. We were able to come together as a team and make the big play.* On how big of a win it was for LSU* *This is probably one of our biggest wins. We played great the whole game and we were able to move the ball down the field.* On covering the spread offense* *We handled it pretty well. We were prepared for it and we were able to adjust on the run.* |
